There are many websites that provide term essays and other academic writing services for students, and most of such sites employ freelance writers. The business model for these sites when it comes to dealing with others is to either to list out all the available assignments and allow the listed authors to claim the work on a first come first serve basis, or post author’s works on the site, waiting for students to buy them. Many of such sites are scams, but there are many legitimate ones also. There are in fact many online forums devoted to discussing which of the sites are scams and which are not. The payment for the author usually ranges between$1 to $10 per page, depending on the work and the qualifications of the author.

The major question with regards to such writing is the question of ethics, for the writer is doing a work that the student is supposed to do for getting academic credits. In fact many states in the USA make it illegal for students to purchase such term papers, and many reputed colleges dismiss the student if they discover them indulging in such practices.
