Online advertising is a form of publicity that uses the internet for the expressed purpose of delivering commercial messages to attract customers and promote sales. Some of the Examples of online advertising include contextual ads on search engine result pages, social network advertising, online classified advertisement,matrimonials, advertising networks and e-mail marketing, , including e-mail spam. This culture has competitive advantage over old traditional marketing. It attracts wider spectrum of consumers. One major benefit of online advertising is the immediate publishing of information and content in a more effective manner that is not restricted by geography or time. By online advertising, marketing has become more interactive. Another plus point is the efficiency of advertiser’s investment. Online advertising allows for the customization and modification of advertisements, including content and posted websites. For example, AdWords and AdSense enable ads visible on relevant webpages or aside of search results of pre-chosen keywords. This new aspect of mass communication has added more meaning to the concept of modernisation.
