Ideal Number of Categories in a Blog

I have recently visited a blog which has loads of information and 100s of pages to access, information wise probably I found the site as best. One thing I could not make out is the actual objective of site and how many numbers of categories the blog has.

Some times on visiting a blog you may find similar sites with dozens of categories which may get you confused and make it difficult for you to access the information you may actually like to. For such blogs generally we forward the link to our email id considering that we will access later on but in reality we never do so and the blog with genuine loads of information is not read as it should have been. So the question arises that how many categories your blog should have to provide easy access to all articles.

Keep at the most 10 to 12 categories and arrange them on priority basis. If your blog has 100s of articles and it’s not possible to keep the number of categories under limits then add sub blogs to the main blog with different subjects. This simple classification of your articles will be a fun for other to choose their desired topics without getting confused.
