In the Podcasting World forum, he says that that being honest with a potential client or sponsor is the most important thing. He also says that getting demographics is important. Use an online form, to collect information from your listeners. The current rate is at about 10 cents per listener.
Myself, I think that the rate could be higher, depending on your client, location, audience, and topics discussed.
Thanks for the feedback, Tom.
To clarify, I pointed out that the rate should be around $.10/listener/ad. (Meaning that if you ran 3 ads, it would amount to $.30/listener.)
Actually, that rate may be a bit high, rather than low. Consider that the Superbowl Ads, (some of the most expensive in the industry) were only costing $.03/listener/ad:
$2.4 million/80 million viewers=$.03/viewer.
Since the Superbowl is not really a targeted market (very general), I could entertain higher rates for targeted marketing, so $10/listener/ad seems about right.
Thanks again for the feedback!
